Tom Hanks Officially Signs Onto The Wachowskis’ Cloud Atlas.

The Wachowskis’ Cloud Atlas has been in development for some years now and at one time James McAvoy and Halle Berry were attached to start in the film. This is the first time that an actor has been officially signed onto to start in the film, which tells that the film is somewhat close to becoming an actual thing.

The film will be based on a novel of the same name and if you’re wondering what the novel is all about, then you can read a summary of it here. Read it? Good. In all honesty, I think my brain just died a bit from reading that summary. This is very complicated and intricate book with a lot of stories and I have absolutely no idea how it will become a film. A website called Cloud Atlas as kind of like The Fountain but squared.

I’m really curious to see if this casting announcement will actually lead to anything. Hopefully Tom Hanks gets asked about Cloud Atlas during his promotion for Larry Crowne. Maybe he can gives a better explanation of what the film is going to be like.
